Frequently asked questions
What a private holdings group is — and how to work with one.
Straight answers to the questions owners, founders and advisers ask us most. If something is missing, a partner will answer it directly.
The essentials
Twelve questions, answered plainly.
Glenmoor Corporation is a United Kingdom–based private holdings and advisory group. It acquires, advises on and patiently grows operating businesses and strategic assets, deploying its own and its partners' capital across the UK, the Gulf and Europe. It is at once a permanent-capital holder and an independent corporate advisory practice — partner-led, and discreet by design.
Not in the conventional sense. A typical private equity firm raises fixed-life funds and is compelled to sell within a set period. Glenmoor is a private holdings company with permanent capital: it buys to keep, has no fund life forcing an exit, and measures success over years and generations rather than a fund cycle. It also provides independent corporate advisory — which most private equity firms do not.
A private holdings company owns and stewards operating businesses for the long term using its own balance sheet rather than a fixed-life fund. Glenmoor acquires controlling and minority stakes in established, profitable companies, supports management with capital and counsel, and holds them patiently through cycles — instead of buying to sell. The result is a true home for businesses whose owners want continuity.
Glenmoor Corporation is a United Kingdom–based group, headquartered in London. It works across the UK, the United Arab Emirates and the wider Gulf (GCC), and Europe. Its UAE operating exposure runs through European Technical, the group's licensed technical and building-services company.
Glenmoor is generalist in philosophy but concentrates where it can add judgement, not only capital: technical and building services, property and real assets, professional and business services, hospitality and leisure, industrial and specialised manufacturing, and select consumer and retail. The common thread is established, profitable businesses with defensible positions and a genuine runway.
The simplest way is a confidential conversation. Contact a partner by phone on 050 168 5444, by WhatsApp, or by email at info@glenmoorcorp.net. No pitch deck is required. A partner reads and responds to every enquiry personally — usually within one business day — and will say plainly whether Glenmoor is the right fit.
Both. Glenmoor takes controlling stakes where stewardship of the whole business is appropriate, and selective minority stakes where founders wish to retain control while bringing in a patient, supportive capital partner. The structure follows the business and the owner's wishes, not a house template — and the firm's own capital goes in on the same terms as any partner.
Long. Because Glenmoor is permanent capital with no fixed fund life, its horizon is measured in years and generations rather than quarters. There is no predetermined exit date; a business is sold, if ever, only when it is the right decision for the company and its owners — never because a clock demands it.
Yes. Glenmoor runs an independent corporate advisory practice that counsels founders, family owners and boards on acquisitions, capital structure, succession and exit — even where it is not investing its own capital. The firm is scrupulous about never mixing capital and advisory without full transparency, and its advice is not driven by transaction fees.
European Technical is the Glenmoor group's UAE operating company — a licensed technical and building-services business through which the group holds direct operating exposure in the Gulf. It is part of the same group and shares its standard of quality. More detail is at europeantechnical.ae.
Yes. Discretion is a condition of how Glenmoor works: it does not publicise its partners, portfolio or terms, and treats every enquiry as strictly confidential. The firm will readily sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before any detailed exchange of sensitive information.
